Born and brought up in Panagudi, in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, Andrew pursued Mechanical Engineering from the Tamil Nadu Technical Board. Starting his career in the challenging world of oil refineries, he met stringent demands of periodic shutdowns, a mandated practice to ensure the safety of workers exposed to relentless sulphur and other highly toxic chemical fumes.

Before stepping into the industry, he had limited knowledge of the various risks and circumstances faced by the workers. Making the most of his local understanding, however, Andrew set up a modest team of 7 workers with credible experience in extracting cold-pressed oils. Subsequently, he initiated the sale of these natural products under PAS Enterprises (now Ruha), utilising local distribution channels and creating valuable employment opportunities, especially for the women in his village. Starting from cold-pressed oils to natural jaggery powder, he now has plans to expand and introduce a diverse range of genuinely beneficial and healthy products with Ruha, Home of All Goodness.
